Another train trip and rain

Up at 5.00 am to be ready to disembark. Short walk from the ship to the Princess owned railroad and into our carriage for the ride to Mt McKinley Wilderness Lodge. The train trip was quite interesting with lots of lakes, water and trees. We saw evidence of the 64 earthquake where the earth moved significantly and drowned an area with sea water and all the trees are dead but preserved. We also saw our first moose!

Had a lovely salmon chowder in a bread roll for lunch and early afternoon detrained in the middle of nowhere and got on buses to take us into Talkeena, a very hick Alaskan town where we wandered around for an hour and then caught another bus out to the Lodge. Eventually got to our room and settled in before heading down for yet another fine dining experience with the supposed view of the highest mountain in North America, Mt McKinley. Misty rain and low clouds so no hope of seeing it.

Back to room and early to bed as it had been a very long day.
