More leisurely morning and civilized breakfast in Botticelli dining room. We did go to the gym this morning though. Then 15 minute walk into town of Skagway.
This town really looked like something out of a Wild West movie with timber buildings and boarded sidewalks. Skagway was where all the people flocked in 1890 for the Klondike Gold Rush. Saw an interesting short documentary in the visitor centre about the gold rush and the terrible conditions the miners had to overcome to get to the Klondike only to find that all the claims were taken.
Lunch time we boarded the White Pass Railway for the most stunning trip by the old train up to White Pass. The scenery was spectacular and some of the bridges and ravines we crossed were gob smacking. Lots of snow and lakes at the top and truly a wonderful trip.
Returned to ship and had drinks with group and then dinner in da Vinci's. Met up with more of the group for coffees and Lyn and Frank went with group to sing song in one of the bars while Tony and I explored the ship more.
