Not much happened during the day. A few laps of the promenade deck and Frank and Lyn went to a cooking demonstration by the head chef. Had drinks with the group and then left at 5.30 to go back to our room as we entered College Fjord. Opened the curtains and stepped outside to MOUNTAINS!!!!
Sailed up the fjord for about 1 1/2 hours with ever increasing icebergs and the most spectacular views. There were five glaciers, at least in the fjord and it was incredible to see the enormity of the mountains and the height and breadth of the glaciers. They were even bigger than the ones yesterday. It was really interesting to see the iceberg variety, some were quite white, others had tinges of blue while others were quite black with lots of moraine embedded in them.
At one point we saw a big seal lazing on his iceberg. The really big Harvard Glacier had a face of 350 feet and was over 2 miles wide. All this glacier viewing brought back all the geomorphology I studied. Once the ship turned around we went upstairs to the cafe and had some dinner and watched it all again.
Went to bed fairly early as we have to disembark the ship at 6.25 am.
