Tony's morning in Paradise

Up early and off in bus to Butchart Gardens.  First was breakfast in the original house overlooking an amazing lawn and garden beds. The fruit, juice and eggs Benedict were pretty good too. The next two hours we spent wandering around the huge garden with its Japanese, Italian, sunken etc gardens. Tony, Lyn and Frank just about wore out their cameras. We even had a ride on the carousel in the garden. The rhododendrons and azaleas along with the masses of color made this a very special place.

Back to the hotel and then into town for various activities. Lyn and Frank went on a walking tour and Kay and Tony had a horse drawn ride around a section of Victoria. We visited a lovely park which was full of free activities for anyone visiting the park including a putting green, children's petting zoo and black and white cinema. While riding in wagon we blew a tyre and poor Gerry the horse had to pull us on the rim. Tony and I then went and looked at the Empress Hotel and then paid to visit the BC Museum which rivaled Te Papa in Wellington!! Walked back to hotel and then dinner in dining room as too tired to walk anywhere.
